Broken Window
by Azucena R., 8th grade

When I was about 10 years old a funny thing happened .I was a hyperactive kid. I liked to play basketball

One afternoon my friend threw a ball at school and broke a window! A teacher was walking by and we took off running. One girl was a tattle-tale and the principal found out. We got in trouble. We couldn't go to recess and we were not allowed to eat.

Even through we got caught, it was an adventure!

Goodbye kitty :c
by Josue F., 6th grade
One day when I was about 11 years old a sad thing happened :c
I was a friendly kid, I like to play and talk a lot.
One day I was at my house. It was after school, my family and I went to the pet store, we decided to adopt a cat, she was gray with yellow eyes. I was happy because I always wanted a pet. Three weeks passed. I came home from school and looked for the cat. I couldn’t find her anywhere. I asked my brother -where the cat was. He told me they have to give it to somebody because we weren’t allowed to have animals in my apartment. I was so sad :’c

La Llorona
Emili P. 8th grade

One day when i was about 10 years old a scary thing happened.
I was a sensitive kid. That day I was in my house and I was sleeping because it was middle i
n the night . My mother woke up because she heard crying. It wasn’t any of any of her children. It was la Llorona!

My mom told us about it the next day. We wanted to stay up that night to hear her, but we were too afraid. We did not get out of bed but listened. We never did hear la Llorona. That night was very frightening and one I will never forget.

First Birthday
Cristian C. 8TH GRADE

May 7th, 2006 was the day of Ernesto's first birthday. Ernesto lived in El
Salvador. Also, That is where I am from too. Ernesto is my cousin. I was
5 years old when it was his birthday.
Ernesto was excited because it was his birthday. He was excited
he was going to first see his Grandmother he never met her. We also had a
grandmother we shared and she was there. But his other grandmother
he never saw in his life. His mother always talked about Abuela Carmen
and has a picture of her. This day they said he would see her.
My grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and everybody in my family came
to the birthday party. It was in the garden. There was food, games, music
presents and my cousin was too happy. But then the party was over
and he never saw his grandmother. His mother said sorry but she could not
come. Ernesto was sad and he cried.
I felt sad for my cousin that day and it broke my heart.  :

The Bald Man Wouldn’t Move
Kemberly B, 6th grade
One day when I was about  8 of years old, a scary thing happened.
I was a funny kid who liked to fight. I lived with my family in Honduras.
That day, I was in the street and with my friends when it was nighttime.
We were playing hide and seek with a ball. My father was on the other side of
the streets sitting on a bench. He was near my grandmother’s house.

It was getting dark. We did not want play more.I wanted to go back
to my father to go home. I couldn’t cross the street because there was a
big, bald man in a car. He sat in the middle of the street and would not move.
His car was old and black. He was scary.
I took a different, long way home that was much far than the other one.
I was afraid I might get lost!
When I reached my father at last, the man and his car was not there.
My father said he asked him what was he doing and the man drove away.
I don't know what he was doing there, but I will always remember
he scared me.

Crash
by Irving I, 8th grade
One day my friend Carlos came over with his small Chihuahua.
Carlos was funny like me.
Carlos wanted to play Xbox so I let him in and we started to play upstairs.
We were playing and then we heard some noises and we didn't know what it was
because nobody else was home. We went to check it out.
We thought it might be someone at the door, but it was not. It was the little dog
falling down the stairs. We saw him down at the bottom of the stairs and
looked confused.
My friend brought the dog back upstairs and we kept on playing Xbox.
From that day we call called the dog "Crash!"
